Day Paddle – Norman’s Cove/Chapel Arm
June 8 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
The Paddling season is upon us, and we are starting it off with our first ocean paddle at Norman’s Cove/Chapel Arm. Led by Paul Simmons, this paddle will be on June 8th or 9th, This is a Level 1 paddle and is weather dependent. Because of this, it may be canceled on short notice.
For this paddle, we ask that you have the Transport Canada required items ( whistle, bailer, PFD, 15 m of buoyant heaving line or tow system, and paddle). We also ask for you to have proper thermal protection, like a drysuit or Wetsuit. Some other items that you may want to bring with you would be a bit of lunch, drinking water, sunscreen and a hat. Remember that the bushes are your bathroom, so you may want to bring what you need, with a leave no trace mindset.
By participating on this club paddle, you are agreeing to the following:
My boat is in good condition & equipped with appropriate floatation.
I have the required items and Thermal gear.
I have informed the trip leader of all issues relevant to the safety of others and/or myself.
I have informed the trip leader of any medical conditions that may affect my health and safety, or the safety of others, including any medication I am taking or significant allergies.
I have informed the trip leader if I am a non-swimmer.
I agree to be respectful of the decisions and guidance of the Leads and Sweeps. I agree to be respectful of other paddlers while on this trip.
If I leave the group, I am no longer a participant under Paddle NL and I am considered on my own.
Anyone showing up without the proper boat or equipment will not be permitted to join the group.
Paddle NL members will receive a email with a signup link and more details on the paddle.
Thanks, and see you on the water
