In 2000 the Ebb and Flow was one of the first projects of Kayak Newfoundland and Labrador (KNL). The magazine proved to be an excellent way to connect a growing, enthusiastic paddling community. Paddlers were hungry for information and ever since, the Ebb and Flow has responded with a wide variety of articles of wonderful adventures, technical insights, incredible photographs and club news, written and delivered by club members. In the past few years, with the creation of PaddleNL, it now features articles on all the paddling disciplines. The magazine has prospered with the financial support of Transport Canada and advertising, including McGruer Agencies, the Outfitters and Subaru who have been on board for many years.

The Ebb and Flow magazine strongly represents the strength of volunteerism in our Newfoundland and Labrador paddling community. and is now approaching 25 years in production – an impressive accomplishment. As concluded by Richard Alexander, the Ebb and Flow is not just our club magazine. It’s our tradition, our ritual and our heritage.
