Required Equipment/Material:

You don’t need to have ANY experience as a Kayaker to participate fully in the basic course. Also, you don’t need to own a boat, a paddle, or a Life Jacket to take any of the courses, PNL will supply these items for the school.

Kayaker’s will be required to wear a wetsuit (farmer john’s neoprene) or drysuit for the on pond portion of the course. A shorty is not acceptable. If you have one you can use it or if not we will supply one at no charge to you.

What you should bring for the pool session:

Preferred swimming attire
Paddle and/ or PFD (if you have your own, if not we will supply you with one to use)

Note: The Club supplies the boats for the pool session so even if you own one you don’t need to bring it to this session.

Waivers: At the pool session candidates will be asked to complete a waiver form which is required by Paddle Canada for insurance purposes.

What you should bring for the on the water sessions:

Fly dope - Rain gear - Paddle (if you have your own)
Life Jacket (if you have your own) - boat (if you have your own)
Lunch/Snacks/Liquids – Sunglasses - Brimmed Hat/Bandana - Towel
Appropriate “wet” footwear (Rubbers, Neoprene Socks, Old Sneakers and change of socks)

Note: You will have to bring your own lunch.
